Tennis leagues are designed to bring all levels of players together to compete on teams. Skill levels are paired for match play over the league season. Year end awards and banquets allow for participants to come together to celebrate their team and the victors.
Team Tennis consists of six teams of roughly 25 players who play each other's teams once or twice. There will be ten courts worth of doubles matches each Monday evening for twelve weeks. Each match consists of three (3) hour long sessions. The duo with the most games won (there are no "sets") wins the session. At the end of the night, a light catered dinner and BYOB beverages are served on the veranda (COVID notwithstanding).
At the end of the season, the team with the most session victories plays the team with the second most victories for the Championship. (In the event of a tie, the percentage of actual games won will determine the standings.) The winning team members win bragging rights for a year and a stylish jacket, evocative of the 80’s Member’s Only line. All in all, a great time!
