The Chicago District Tennis Association Tournament, the CDTA, also called the Clay Court Tourney, has been part of the River Forest Tennis Club for many years. This tournament is a Club tradition that showcases many talented players from throughout Chicago land. Over the years, the tournament has drawn up to 150 participants, requiring the RFTC to utilize courts through the RF Park District, OPRF, and the Oak Park Tennis Club, truly bringing this event to our community. Typically, the tournament hosts been between 60-90 players, a number easily handled on the ten courts at the RFTC.
Held in June, it is an annual, USTA-sanctioned, Level 5 tournament for junior boy and girl players up to the age of 18. Players and their families are warmly welcomed by RFTC members who are avid fans of these special juniors. Members and guests are guaranteed a lively tournament filled with a high level of talent and competition. The participants are required to wear traditional all-white tennis attire, and are given a tournament t-shirt at registration. These juniors are always dedicated, often returning players, who love this tournament and enjoy playing tennis at our historic Club, often praising the beautiful grounds and the well-kept courts.
The CDTA is one of the premier tennis events at the River Forest Tennis Club, giving everyone a glimpse of the tennis greats to come!
