Presidents Welcome

Greetings!

This year the Club is celebrating its 104th season and after all these years, it continues to hold on to its culture and tradition.

The Club is dedicated to the participation of the membership through many activities and committees. Members work hard to maintain the Club, white clothing remains the dress code and a New Members’ Show is still held each season in our 1906 Frank Lloyd Wright clubhouse.

The Club was founded in 1905, under the presidency of Harry Richardson. We started with six grass courts at Lake and Harlem Avenue. Fifteen years later, we purchased our present site for $35,000 and moved the club house here. A new swimming pool was installed in 1999 and, most recently, new state-of-the-art Hydro-Grid tennis courts were constructed.

From an initial enrollment of 80 members, the Club now has 225 families. The Club offers several activities and events throughout the season including: daily play on excellent courts, tournaments, a junior development tennis program, tennis lessons, a swim team that competes in meets, swimming instruction, family entertainment events on holiday week-ends, regular Saturday night dinners with entertainment, and much more. All of the events are planned and organized by the Club’s members.

If you are interested in learning more about the club, please check our website’s membership area and visit us or speak with one of our members.

For our members, our website allows you to make dinner reservations and look up fellow members and Club information. We hope you will find our site helpful and informative. Feel free to send me an email with any comments. We are looking forward to a great year in celebrating our 104th season!

In the tradition,
