Swim Team

The RFTC Swim Team is a long-standing tradition that provides excellent training and challenging competition for swimmers age 5 to 18. RFTC competes with area clubs such as Salt Creek, Oak Brook Bath and Tennis, Five Seasons and other near-west suburban swim clubs. The season culminates in a conference-wide meet for swimmers who qualify.

Children (age 5-18) who are family members or junior privilege (age 10-18) holders may register to join the swim team. The RFTC Swim Team is organized by member volunteers and supervised by professional swim coaches. During the swim team season, program participants have practice Monday through Friday, typically in one hour time slots between 3:30 and 6:30pm.

RFTC swim meets are a great opportunity to expose children to  swim competitively in a relaxed way and to give them an opportunity to display their progress and growth as a swimmer. Swim meets are also social, fun affairs for parents and children. Swim meets, whether home or away, typically begin with mandatory warm-ups followed by competition.

The swim season begins with a friendly in-house meet and closes with a family swim team banquet. Every participating family is required to work a minimum number of volunteer shifts throughout the season. The RFTC Swim Team experience is one that creates lasting memories for kids of all ages and skill levels.

Simply put, this swim team cannot run without volunteers, our member/parent volunteers! The Club regularly receives positive feedback from other teams regarding RFTC’s efficiency and great hospitality. Even if the swim team concept is new to family, participants are guaranteed a fun and fulfilling experience all season long. Volunteers can help in a variety of ways, including race timing, results entry, preparing ribbons, hosting concessions for home meets, and much more.

Adult members can keep current with the weekly Swim Team newsletter on the RFTC Live site.
